Green to Clean
Pool Birdie’s green-to-clean service uses chlorine wash treatments to remove algae, restore water clarity, and rebalance pool chemistry for Phoenix-area pools without draining.
A green pool doesn’t mean your pool is ruined—but it does mean it needs immediate, professional treatment. Algae spreads quickly in Phoenix heat, and waiting too long can turn a simple cleanup into a much larger problem.
Green To Clean Service
What Is a Green-to-Clean Pool Service?
A green-to-clean service is a targeted treatment designed to eliminate algae blooms that turn pool water green, cloudy, or unsafe. Instead of draining the pool, professionals use controlled chlorine wash treatments, filtration, and brushing to kill algae and restore clean water.
This approach is safer for your pool surface and more cost-effective than aggressive methods when addressed early.
Why Pools Turn Green in Phoenix
Phoenix pools are especially prone to algae due to:
- Extreme heat
- Rapid chlorine burn-off
- Dust and debris
- Inconsistent maintenance
Once algae takes hold, normal chemical adjustments are usually not enough to fix the problem.

Green-to-Clean vs Acid Wash
A chlorine wash is usually the first and preferred solution for green pools. Acid washes involve draining the pool and removing a thin layer of plaster, which should only be done when staining is severe or algae is embedded. In many cases, a green-to-clean avoids the need for an acid wash entirely.
